Tax Sale

Sale of property after a period of nonpayment of taxes.

Tenancy in Common

TRIM / TRIM Notice

TRIM stands for Truth in Millage. It refers to the TRIM Notice, which is an annual notice sent to property owners in Florida (and some other states) that details proposed property taxes, including:

  • The assessed property value
  • The millage rates (tax rates) set by local governments
  • The estimated property taxes based on those rates

The TRIM Notice is not a bill but serves to inform property owners of potential tax changes and allows them to attend public hearings before the rates are finalized.

Void

To have no force or effect; that which is unenforceable.

Voidable

That which is capable of being adjudged void, but is not void unless action is taken to make it so.
